PANGGUNGREJO, Radar Bromo – Jumlah sampah di Kota Pasuruan yang masuk ke tempat pembuangan akhir (TPA) menyusut. Penyutusan itu dipicu pemilihan sampah-sampah oleh warga dan kader-kader lingkungan.

Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kebersihan dan Pertamanan (DLHKP) Kota Pasuruan mencatat, ada sebanyak 38.682 ton sampah yang masuk ke TPA pada 2023 lalu.

Padahal, tahun 2022, jumlah sampah yang masuk ke TPA mencapai 53.297 ton. Artinya, ada penurunan hingga 14.615 ton.

Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kebersihan dan Pertamanan (DLHKP) Kota Pasuruan Samsul Rizal mengatakan, distribusi sampah ke TPA mengalami penurunan.

Sepanjang 2023, TPA di Kota Pasuruan bisa menampung hingga 106 ton per hari. Jauh menurun hingga 40 ton, jika dibandingkan 2022, yang bisa mencapai 146 ton per harinya.

“Total ada sekitar 38.682 ton sampah yang masuk ke TPA tahun 2023. Jumlah itu, jauh mengalami penurunan jika dibandingkan 2022 yang mencapai mencapai 53.297 ton,” ungkapnya.

Rizal–sapaannya–menyebut, penurunan sampah yang masuk ke TPA ini disebabkan oleh proses reduksi atau pengurangan sampah di tingkat kelurahan yang semakin baik. Sampah yang bisa didaur ulang dipilah oleh kader lingkungan.

Saat ini, reduksi sampah sudah mencapai 24 persen. Sementara, penanganan sampah sebesar 71 persen.

Diharapkan pada 2025 mendatang, bisa mengalami peningkatan dengan reduksi bisa sekitar 30 persen.

Agar terwujud, DLHKP bakal memperbanyak bank sampah unit di masyarakat. Sehingga, pengolahan bisa dimaksimalkan mulai dari rumah tangga.

“Kami juga akan memaksimalkan keberadaan kader lingkungan dan TPS3R. Ada 224 kader di 34 kelurahan untuk membantu upaya reduksi sampah,” tuturnya. (riz/one)
