Labuhan Bajo
Labuan Bajo is located in the Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. In the rise of Indonesian tourism nowadays, Labuan Bajo becomes one of the most popular destinations, especially to those who love to enjoy the beach atmosphere. Labuan Bajo has a very beautiful natural landscape, blue ocean, and a wide variety of panoramas from coastal areas to the beautiful hills.
Besides being famous for one of its endemic animals, Komodo Dragon, Labuan Bajo also provides us with many other tourist attractions that are worth visiting. For instanse, the well-known Padar Island, the breathtaking Rinca and Komodo Island, Pink Beach, and traditional villages in the Wae Rebo area, offer their own beauty and uniqueness.
Labuan Bajo is designed to be one of the “”New Bali”” areas along with 4 other tourist destinations. In addition, the Indonesian government also made this region one of the priorities because there will be a G20 and ASEAN Summit meeting in 2023. Therefore, many support and preparations supporting the infrastructure development and cleaning aspects, including marine debris handling have been started and will continue to be carried out.
In the National Action Plan for Marine Debris Handling (RAN PSL), Labuan Bajo becomes one of the main focus. Therefore, various actors from different ministries and institutions hold different activities related to marine debris handling, ranging from education and training, clean-up actions, provision of Recycling Centers, to strengthening regulations.
