Menangani Sampah Laut Sebesar 70% sampai dengan Tahun 2025.
Selain dari kurang efektifnya pengelolaan sampah di daratan, belum adanya kesadaran masyarakat yang cukup tentang bagaimana mengelola sampah menjadi permasalahan yang besar. Hal tersebut berdampak pada permasalahan sampah laut yang semakin pelik.
Melalui peraturan presiden nomor 83 tahun 2018 tentang penanganan sampah laut, dibentuk Rencana Aksi Nasional Penanganan Sampah Laut (RAN PSL) tahun 2018-2025 yang memberikan arahan-arahan strategis bagi kementerian/lembaga untuk menangani permasalahan sampah laut.
5 Destinasi Pariwisata Super Prioritas
Kementerian Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi telah menyepakati bahwa penyelesaian masalah sampah pada tahun 2020 dikonsentrasikan pada lima destinasi wisata super prioritas, yaitu Labuan Bajo, Likupang, Mandalika, Borobudur, dan Danau Toba. Kelima wilayah tersebut dikategorikan sebagai destinasi wisata super prioritas yang sebelumnya sudah disaring pemerintah dari program 10 Bali baru atau dikenal juga sebagai 10 destinasi wisata prioritas. Pemerintah berharap, hal ini dapat menjadi daya tarik lebih bagi perkembangan pariwisata di Indonesia serta memberikan dampak kehidupan yang lebih baik bagi masyarakat setempat.

Sampah biasanya dilihat sebagai sesuatu yang kotor, jorok, dan tidak berharga. Tapi, jangan salah. Beberapa pihak baik secara individu maupun kelompok bisa menjadikan permasalahan sampah sebagai sebuah peluang bisnis yang menjanjikan. Selain membantu menyelamatkan lingkungan, mereka juga bisa meningkatkan taraf hidup dan tingkat ekonomi masyarakat.

Hal ini tentu bukan hanya merupakan tanggung jawab pemerintah saja, namun seluruh anggota masyarakat juga memiliki kewajiban yang sama. Kesadaran akan pentingnya menangani sampah dengan baik harus ditanamkan dari sekarang, demi laut Indonesia yang bersih dan ekosistem yang terjaga.
